Melbourne’s finest female voices unite as Women of Soul, to bring you the Mornington Peninsula’s biggest soul party on Friday 4 December 2015, at The Grand Hotel in Mornington.
Starring Australia’s best known diva’s; Chelsea Wilson, May Johnston (Deep Street Soul), Lisa Faithfull (Soul Safari), Christina Perfection (The Perfections) and Rita Satch, Women of Soul is backed by a stellar band featuring musicians from The Putbacks, The Bamboos and Cookin’ on 3 Burners.
Get ready to shake and shimmy to hard hitting funk, sweet soul, deep rhythm and blues with Melbourne’s sassiest soul sisters, at this special one off Mornington Peninsula show. Each vocalist with perform their own feature originals, as well as tributes to female legends Etta James, Esther Phillips and Aretha Franklin with soul classics from the Stax, Motown and Chess record labels.
Curated by Chelsea Wilson (PBS FM Music Manager and ‘Jazz Got Soul’ show producer & presenter), Women of Soul promises an evening of modern day soul, sass and swinging good times.
