Mornington will be abuzz this Queens Birthday long weekend with the sights and sounds of the third Mornington Winter Jazz Festival from June 5th to 8th 2015.
The Jazz Festival is a four day celebration of Music, Art and Heritage from across the peninsula and beyond. The 2015 festival will see Mornington come alive with a showcase of entertainment including Live Laneway Painting, ‘Music After Dark’ in Mornington Library, ‘Market Grooves’ on Main Street, Live and Local Jam Sessions and Vocal Workshops with some of the finest in the business, plus a new KidsZone with hours of entertainment for the little ones to enjoy.
The cornerstone of the Festival is the dynamic Jazz program which offers music from across the musical spectrum. From internationally renowned performers including the impeccable Kate Ceberano, the hugely entertaining and flawless Vika Bull, the divine Emma Pask, charismatic Jude Perl, living legend George Golla with Jacki Cooper and the high energy entertainment of GeorgeWashingMachine in Feel The Manouche and crowd favourite Wilbur Wilde. The 2015 Mornington Winter Jazz Festival line up has something for everyone.
Ticketed performances will see nights and afternoon’s in Mornington ablaze with jazz and atmosphere. In addition to the ticketed performances and dinner shows, FREE jazz and music performances will be held in venues and locations across Mornington all weekend long. Showcasing fantastic local musicians, artists and bands including the popular ‘Music After Dark ‘ in the Mornington Library, ‘Jazz n’ Swing’ afternoon at the Peninsula Grange, ‘Market Grooves’ on Main Street, and the Mornington Historical Railway ‘Jazz at the Station’ are just a few great events in the entertainment program – check out the website for the full program.
