Troubadour and raconteur Ben Wright Smith began writing songs as a teenager. Described now as ‘one of the country’s most exciting songwriters’ (ToneDeaf), his journeyman-style storytelling has its roots in phsych-folk, alt-country and beat poetry.
Ben’s worldwide travels as a young twenty-something inspired a catalogue of hundreds of songs. With a guitar in town, Ben travelled through Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Nicaragua, Cuba and Mexico – with brief forays into India learning the local language, and using music as a ‘way to remember the poems’ he had been writing.
