Once a year, The Friends of the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery host their Life’s a Beach student art award recognizing the talents and artistic innovations of Peninsula youth, from Prep to Year Twelve. To be exhibited in such a prestigious venue really is something to brag about.
Students from 21 different schools competed, but only a dozen won a first, second or third prize, though the highly commended were also exhibited at the MPRG and other venues. From a glass-domed underwater world with intricate sculptures inside to a colourful bathing box mosaic to brilliant drawing and photography, these kids really delivered.
Come to the gallery to see the talents of today’s artists of the future. This exhibition, in conjunction On the Beach, are a great way to escape the heat and find inspiration. On display until February 28 at Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Civic Reserve, Mornington. 5975 4395.
